What We Do

Welcoming School Culture through Shared Experiences

As educational leaders, we understand that cultivating a strong sense of community is essential to the overall well-being and success of our schools. I started Connect For Kids because I know that the job of principal is complex, and very often interrupted. I know that it is quite literally not possible to get to everything and everyone. I believe however, that when schools foster meaningful connections among students, educators, and families, everyone benefits.

  • At Connect for Kids, we believe that strong communities begin in the classroom. Our mission is to cultivate meaningful partnerships between families and elementary schools by creating authentic volunteer opportunities that foster shared experiences, deepen relationships, and strengthen the social fabric of our neighborhoods. Through intentional engagement and inclusive collaboration, we empower families to become active participants in the educational journey, enriching the lives of children and building resilient, connected communities.

  • We envision a future where every elementary school is a vibrant hub of community connection—where families, educators, and neighbors come together to support children’s growth and celebrate shared purpose. By embedding family engagement into the daily rhythm of school life, we aim to inspire a culture of belonging, empathy, and collective care.

At Connect For Kids, we are here to support you in building and sustaining this kind of community.

Here is how we can help:

● Volunteer Training: We will train small groups of community members—parents, legal guardians, grandparents (10–15 individuals)—to serve as school volunteers. Together with your team, we will design a personalized training program tailored to your school’s specific needs.

● Orientation Sessions: We will deliver two mandatory two-hour sessions covering school routines, communication protocols, safety, child development, confidentiality, and more. If babysitting is needed, we will provide babysitters who are fingerprinted. If translation is needed, we will do everything we can to accommodate.

Screening & Documentation: We will collect and review letters of reference for each participant.

● Coordination & Scheduling: We will provide ID badges, assist with scheduling based on your school’s needs, and help establish a sign-in/out protocol.

● Ongoing Support: We will follow up regularly and work with you to address challenges that may arise.

To complement these, Connect For Kids partners with agencies that offer talks and workshops for parents and guardians on topics such as:

  • Health and wellness

  • Anxiety and grief

  • Sibling relationships

  • Creating social capital

  • Developing mutual trust and respect

  • Behavioral challenges

  • Gender identity

  • And more…

You tell us what your community needs, and we will take care of the rest:

  • Schedule the event

  • Provide flyers and registration links

  • Manage registration

  • Coordinate introductions (if desired)

  • Bring coffee and tea

  • Manage setup and cleanup

These shared experiences help build a welcoming school culture by:

  • Increasing parental satisfaction

  • Strengthening home-school communication.
